Leaving old ways
arteries gradually diverge 
into capillaries
mending themselves 
into veins, finding a way
back to the beat
beat again heart
casually insisting 
whatever’s good 
can
hemorrhage.

    Oh, that turn at the end, takes my breath away. Love how the third strophe makes that beat happen with the words. Lovely.
