Looking Back

Looking Back

Memory is mere observation.
Truth is what wasn’t seen
That made the bird fly.

That is a mouse or a vole in its talons. Maybe it’s because I am an optimist that this truth doesn’t horrify me. It forces me value life to the core—how we are indebted to so many who have given no less than their life for us. Most with no choice in the matter. Makes me want to fall on my face and in thanks, and bring honor to the sacrifice. Live such that it makes the sacrifice a good choice.

Isn’t truth usually just off frame, the unseen puppeteer?
