“…Alas, I never knew you…”
This was Jesus’ response to those who wanted in to heaven because they called him Lord, Lord, because they did good works in his name.
I’ve spent a lot of time trying to know God through devotions and prayer and believing that doing the things that I think that He thinks are important is the highest call.
What does that mean—I never knew you? What do you do that God KNOWS you……

In this day and age I am not at all sure what a prophet is, much less a false prophet. My fear is that I am, like the false prophets, living my life as an example that is not true. Implying by my example that “God says…” when in reality God is in opposition to my example and advice.
Mat 7:21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.
I am ever impressed that obedience (doing the will of my Father in Heaven) is how God knows me.
I have always read that passage as refering to the false prophets of the previous verses, and not being a false prophet, not addressed to me at all. hmmmmm?
To be known, isn’t that the biggest question after all?
